Since taking the reins in 2018, Gonzalve has overseen major growth, guiding BIC to €2.2 billion in net sales in 2024.
Under his leadership, the company continues to evolve beyond its classic product lines while maintaining its global market presence. BIC remains publicly listed on the Paris Stock Exchange (Euronext), and chances are, you’ve actually used one of their products.
One of Gonzalve’s more strategic moves has been expanding BIC’s footprint into high-growth markets. By launching subsidiaries in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire, he’s bolstered the company’s reach across West Africa, clearly aiming to make BIC a truly borderless brand.
But it’s not all legacy and ink.
Gonzalve has also brought a fresh, expressive edge to the BIC portfolio. He led the acquisitions of tattoo-forward companies Inkbox and Tattly, signaling a bold bet on creativity, identity, and self-expression.
Most recently, he oversaw the acquisition of Tangle Teezer, a cult-favorite haircare brand, for approximately €200 million.
It’s a sharp example of how even the most established brands can still surprise you.
