When Evelyn Webster stepped in as CEO of SoulCycle in late 2020, the path ahead wasn’t smooth. Studios were quiet, momentum had slowed, and the world was still mid-pivot.
She didn’t wait for a perfect moment. She got in the saddle.
And now she’s coming to Beanstalk to talk about what it looks like to lead with presence—especially when the future is still unfolding.
One of her first bold swings? Getting riders moving again—this time, outdoors. Under her leadership, SoulCycle launched more than 30 pop-up studios across the country. More than a workaround, it was a signal: the brand still had room to move and riders to serve.
Evelyn was there for it. One winter, under a heated tent at Hudson Yards, she clipped in for a class—Bee Gees on the playlist, cold air in the lungs, energy rising with every beat. She didn’t have to be there. But she was fully present and part of it.
That instinct to show up also surfaced back inside the company.
Evelyn led a company-wide culture reset and met with team members across the board, from HQ to front desk. She wanted to rebuild Soul’s values from the inside out without shortcuts and slogans, but only real effort to listen and reflect.
That clarity didn’t come from a corporate playbook. It started with how she moves through her own life.
Every morning, Evelyn begins with a five-part ritual: puzzles, coffee, movement, mindfulness, and music. Others may think of it as a self-care checklist. For her, this is how she also creates space to think, recalibrate, and lead deliberately.
That rhythm mirrors the brand itself: grounded, intentional, and built to move with purpose.
And when she talks about SoulCycle, she doesn’t lead with fitness. She leads with connection. In her words, that’s the brand’s superpower. While the choreography or playlists are great, the feeling of riding in sync with people around you is hard to top.
That kind of resonance doesn’t stop at the studio walls.
